Patient Education: National Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Awareness Week

Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week 2015 is celebrated April 12-18 across the nation. The weeklong series of events promoting education and awareness of oral, head and neck cancer is organized through the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. The week will be followed by a day of free screenings across the country that will take place on Friday, April 25.

There are various ways you can get involved if you or a loved one suffers from the disease, or if you wish to support others who suffer from oral, head and neck cancer.  A few ways to get involved include:

  • Joining the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance Support Community and connecting with families, friends and caregivers to hear their stories and share your own.
  • Spreading the word and attending awareness events in your area, including any benefits, concerts, or screening days.
  • Donating money through general donations, memorials and tributes, or purchases of merchandise from Picks for Peace.
